I've finally finished picking out the parts for my first gaming computer, and if anyone with experience would like to double-check it for me, I'd be extremely grateful!

Here it is

Thanks!

It's pretty good. One question - Why such a high price and high wattage PSU? Otherwise, its great. Just make sure to have some cooling in there too. Does your case come with fans?

I chose the PSU mostly for the 80 plus gold rating, I know the bronze was a bit cheaper. And I wanted a nice buffer of wattage, I guess. The case has 2, 120mm fans, one in the front and one in the rear. Thanks for taking the time to look over it, by the way.

1) Why that specific CPU? Can't you go for a i7-4770?
2) Why that motherboard? Go Z97.
3) Get better speeds on the RAM.
4) Don't overspend on the SSD.
5) You TOTALLY cheaped out on the GPU. That won't do the CPU any good
6) I don't trust that brand of a case.
7) The PSU brand is only okay, and that's all I can say about it. Get something better.

Here's every improvement I made.

You're very welcome buddy! I think it should work out fine! Just make sure you check for some case fans and if your case comes with them. If you want that efficient power supply, then go for it. Happy building, and thanks for allowing me to help you!

UPDATE: Oops! I didn't see the part about the case fans you said it had. Haha.

Dude, Warrior of Cats, the GPU is WAY WAY WAY under powered for an i7. It's a bottleneck.

Well, keep in mind it's a first build. Besides, I don't know too much about NVIDIA cards, but if it's over a 750 it should work just fine. But i see what you are saying. For an i7, you need a more powerful card, but I wouldn't stress it too much on a first build. But remember, it's all on what games he's playing here.

IT'S A FIRST BUILD!!! TEACH HIM SOMETHING!!! THIS WILL MAKE A LASTING EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE!!!

Yes, above GTX 750 would work at or above medium settings, but you're TOTALLY ignoring the fact that 1) You need better GPU for i7, and 2) he used too much on stuff, and it can be used for a better GPU. And asides, an i5 with a GTX 780/GTX970 would max everything. But a i7 and GTX 760 is bound to be stuck on High-Ultra.

Good point. In that case, yeah, if you are really on a tight budget, lower down the CPU, and raise up the GPU. Your GPU is behind on your CPU, and it isnt getting the full use of your CPU. Thanks okcnaline for pointing it out :)

Whats with all the post with the WB Blue dead weight today ?

1. The WD Blue sits in 63d place on THGs performance charts ... get something near the top ...how about No. 1 ?

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/hdd-charts-2013/-17-...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

2. Instead of the old 760....I'd try and squeeze a few more bucks for the new 970....it's 40 % faster, overclocks like crazy and scales 88% in SLI

3. Grab a 750 watt top rated (Jonnyguru 9.5 build quality rating) for just $50 ... will able two 970s.

http://tpucdn.com/reviews/ASUS/GTX_970_STRIX_OC/images/...

4. Why 1333 RAM,

5. Get a gaming MoBo, SLI capable with 4690k for same price

Your build = $479 for MoBo, CPU and slow memory
This alternate is an upgrade all around and is $4 cheaper

Intel 4690k = $240
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

MSI GD65 w/ 2 x 4GB of 1866 RAM = $235
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The only thing is if you build with this MoBo you will probably wanna watch this video a few times aday till all ya parts arrive ... just make sure you get it right :)

Hey everyone, I wanna thank you all for taking the time to look at this and help me out. You're all right about the crappy ram, I just accidentally entered the wrong one in the part picker, I actually intended to pick the 1600 version. In addition, The main reason I chose an i7 over an i5 is to future-proof for when I upgrade in the future. I still intend to look over all the parts you guys suggested, so please continue to tell me what you think!
