Hi. A client of mine is going to buy a psu from me. He gave me this photo of what he claims it's a gtx 770.

Look at it:

He is sure it's a gtx 770, but he says it's from a very unknown manufacturer from another country.

Do you know who could be the manufacturer and what model could it be based on that picture?

Thanks.

Why don't you just ask him for a better picture?

Correct. We also stopped using all aluminum heatsinks with no heatpipes awhile ago for higher end cards. If he won't let you test it or confirm it, you don't want it.

Also, why does this guy's GPU mean anything when he's buying a PSU from you? It's not like you're buying his GPU and if he has a fake GTX 770 why should it matter to you.

he's buying a psu for that card, he's not selling that card, he just need a psu so he can put it in his system.

Yeah, I got that, read my post again.

Again, why does this matter to you. He clearly does not have a GTX 770.

Not enough. Give us the entire picture (side, back, front, ports) view of the GPU and we may have a crack.

that's exactly what I thought. However, I told him to double-check if it really was a gtx 770 and he told me it was. And he couldn't give me another picture of the card.

He wants to buy a PSU for that card, but I'm a bit unsure of giving him a recommendation because of the 4pin molex connector.

Until he give conclusive evidence, it's NOT a GTX 770.

Hi. I know that, but I've been a huge fan of graphics cards and I want to help my fellow customer and that picture is killing me because I want to know the exact model of that card.

I actually think he got scammed, he has a core i7 processor (or that's what he says anyways) and in a high-end system with a high end gpu, it's very unlikely that the graphics card has a molex 4pin input.

Conclusive evidence would be plugging in the card, getting it successfully running, and using something like GPU-Z to verify.

That link still leads to more questions - particularly, a GTX 770 for $80? And surely being from China MUST mean it's legit [/sarcasm]

There's no way in hell that it is a gtx 770, Nvidia doesn't even sell that chip to manufacturers for that price. It's definitively a chinesse flashed card. My client is not a wise person, I guess. LOL

The challenge has finally concluded. Thanks for your comments! :)  (and try harder next time, as you could see, the answer was out there.)

Recommend any PSU that supplies 500w and call it good. Let him think what he wants, its NOT a 770, so it wont ever need more power.

As for that secondary link, that is an old 460 if I remember correctly.
