So I have an i5-3570k and a 2GB gtx670 and I'm a pretty big gamer. With the release of the gtx 970 and the 980 I was wondering if it was a good time to upgrade either of these components. I've seen some recommended system requirements where they recommend I have a 4GB gtx670 or higher or they recommend an i7 or FX8350 or better. I enjoy being able to max out most games, but I don't know for how much longer I will be able to do so.

More about : upgrade

The i5-3570k is still the top rated CPU for the money (gaming).....you don't gain anything going with a faster processor right now (they could change tomorrow).

Until the game programmers utilize more processor - you are sitting good there.

i5 Ivy will max out any game as easily as Haswell, there's little benefits of moving up to i7 vs i5. A GPU update would yield better results, either of the 970 or 980 would be worthy upgrades, depends on your budget. I'd get a GTX 980 and would SLI it down the road in some years to go all pro with gaming :)
