Greetings guys i am fairly new at this kind of stuff. I have a second computer which is much stronger than the one i am trying to fix however i fear i am in over my head atm.

My computer is 980 extreme i7, Run of the mill cheap hitachi 2tb hd, asus 680 and my old motherboard died. After much messing around i found another board. Its a Asus Sabertooth x58. It just came with the board no manuals or drivers or cds. On first boot up the computer seemed to install everything by its self.

I am not getting any heat errors at all which is what i first thought it was.
The problems goes exactly like this i boot it up and it gets to start screen. I pick my user (so far everything normal) and it goes to the main screen and everything operates fine. After about 5 mins the whole computer shuts off and restarts.

I was thinking i need the driver install disk but i have no idea who to get it.

Any tips, suggestions and advice is more than welcome.

I have just come home and stayed awake a bit after a night shift and archeage is killing me with entertainment however i am at my wall so i will be sleeping for about 5 hour s after i post this.

Ty in advance tbh i love my old computer and its tearing me up that i have waited so long for parts and its still having issues.

Solution
Yeah, it sounds like driver issues to me. Any of the two links should help but the second one seems to have more updates. Change the OS selection if necessary and start with the Chipset driver installed first. And don't update it if the installer finds a more recent version is already installed.

see if the pc will stay up in the bios. and use the mb temp sensor in the biso to make sure the temp and voltages are holding. check in the bios to see if the mb bios is old. asus has the newest bios file and drivers for your mb. if the system holds up fine in the bios...boot into safe mode and see if it holds. if it does remove all of the drivers in windoiws system and reboot.
