I have a Maximus VII Formula. I just got this in the mail from newegg yesterday, I bought it as an "open box".
I already had a complete pc built, I'm just swapping the mobo and upgrading parts here and there.
Old setup:
Z87-A
i5 4670k
12gb RAM
2x 250GB Samsung SSDs
GTX 770
H100i
All I did was swap out the mobo with the Maximus VII.
I did a clean install of windows 7, installed all the drivers with the installation disk and now the onboard LAN is causing a problem.
I have a steady orange light on with a blinking yellow light (on the backside of computer where you plug in Ethernet cord).
I was running speed tests at 80mbps before swapping mobos. Now I've been hitting sometimes 10-15mbps but most of the time (if I can even make it to that page) 0.6mbps.
I've updated the mobo, updated the driver, uninstalled the driver, installed newest from usb.
I've plugged my Ethernet cable in my laptop and get about 36mbps.
I've been on the phone with Verizon, everything is good on their end, but they are still going to send out a tech Saturday to check out the router.
I've called asus and talked to some guy for a while trying to figure it out and got disconnected and called back only to be told that I don't know what I'm talking about.
I'll try calling them again tomorrow, I'm tired of talking to customer service, I've been on the phone between asus and Verizon for a little over five hours.
I know it's a long shot, but without telling me to get an Ethernet card, is there anyway to fix this?
