So I just completed my computer and I have a Tri-x r9 290 in it, a msi z97 g45 mobo, i5 4690k cpu, and the monitor is a Sony Bravia 1080p 32" tv. When I turn on my pc and connect the hdmi to the screen, it is black like it is trying to connect, then it goes back to the no signal screen. Both ports on the Tv are HDMI IN, and I tried both hdmi ports on the pc ( On the MoBo and the Gpu). Help?

More about : finished build signal

You will need to be using the gpu's ports. And as far as the gpu is concern'd.. are you plugging in the power connections firmly? And does the gpu start up when you power it on?

Disregarding those troubleshooting steps... I have found on my gpu, the hdmi cable.. you need to give it some force to plug into the gpu ALL the way in.

My gpu fans are running so I think it's on and I made sure the hdmi cable is put in tight, still not working :(

What is your PSU? Make/Model. Along with that... Try taking the card out, plug your wire into the motherboard and try booting, you will be using the CPU's integrated graphics to see if it boots..

Whelp.. you may be a bit mad D:

The problem consists in your PSU, Your PSU lists: "+3.3V@25A, +5V@25A, +12V1@20A, +12V2@20A, +12V3@20A, +12V4@20A, +5Vsb@3A, -12V@0.8A"

You GPU needs more Amperage on the 12v rail... this PSU has 4 seperate rails. I believe 41amps on ONE 12v rail is needed for the 290.

If it is a new PSU, try getting a Refund on your PSU, and go for this one instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
