This is my current build:
CPU: i5-4670k
RAM: 8GB Ram
GPU: Gigabyte R9 290-OC
Mobo: Gigabyte Z97M-D3H
PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000G2
Storage: 128GB SSD (OS, APPS, GAMES), 1TB HHD Video Output, 500GB HHD (Recording)
Case: Corsair 350D

Well, at the moment, video editing with Sony Vegas is just too long. A 15min video with some basic editing takes about an hour or longer. What I want is to render much faster so I can be more productive other than waiting for it to finish and then be able to record games again.
As you all know, the intel 6 cores and 8 core came out. I want to upgrade to that but that would mean that i would flush money on the drain. The cheapest 2011-3 upgrade (CPU, RAM, MOBO) would cost me close to $1000. So is that worth it? Or should i just get an i7 4770k or 4790k. Or just get the last gen i7 4930 and mobo second hand for around $700?

PLEASE HELP
