I am debating of upgrading my MSI Radeon 7850 2GB.

Objective: To determine the value of upgrading to a newer card in terms of performance

Purposes of Card: Primarily gaming(League of Legends, Crysis 3, BF4, etc.).

Case cooling: Multiple high CFM case fans(not issue)

Budget: $230 USD

Current Build:
1. FX-6300@4.2 Ghtz [Hyper 212 Evo Cooler]
2. Rosewill 650W Capstone
3. Asus M5A99FX PRO.2
4. 2x4GB 1333 Mhtz
5. Radeon HD 7850 2GB@1050/1300 core/memory

Displays:
1.32inch 1360x760(main)
2.17inch 1280x729(used for anything that would be useful to see while fullscreen on main display[nothing intensive])

Final words:
1.Right now I can play most games at 60+ fps on max settings(BF4 is an example of exception).
2.I am fine with OCing GPU as long as it is as stock voltages.

As I write this I am leaning towards "not worth it," but I wanted a second opinion(s).

when your CPU alone almost cost as much as my entire build, that is pretty easy to say.

you are taking this the wrong way. the HD 7850 was built for gaming at resolutions of 1080p or higher. if your monitor is less than 1080p than your card's strength is just going to waste. you should upgrade your display before anything else. even if you upgrade to 4x GTX 980 4-way SLI you still won't see a difference at that resolution from what you have now

Pros for playing at low res:
1. ability to use more AA(which is my preference)
2. cheaper
3. video card takes same time until being obsolete, but no change in what you are used to

Cons:
1. not playing at higher resolution(obviously)

What I am trying to say is that, I am ok with rendering 1080p+ and then scaling it down to 720p. By doing that, I can enjoy a crisper image(granted not as crisp as a 1080p+ display), but at much lower cost. Besides, unless you have a side-by-side comparison of 1080p and 720p, you will not really recognize a difference once you are playing.

You might not understand it with your rig, but my objective is to be able to play any game on the market at "good enough" settings at 60+ fps because I simply cant afford anything better. My post should be more Is it worth upgrading to continue what I am already doing for "n-years"?
