A while back when I recieved the parts for my new build, my cpu came with a broken pin. I was too lazy to have it replaced so I stuck the pin in its corresponding slot.. Turns out the motherboard that I bought has a dead ram slot.... I am going to buy a new motherboard but I need to know how I will get that pin out.. Will a magnet do the trick?

I'm sure you probably realize this, but trying to use a CPU which is missing any of its pins is really not a good idea. With that said, you mention the CPU having the pins, so that means you're talking about an AMD CPU and motherboard, correct? Those boards feature the zero insertion force sockets, so with the CPU release arm up (in the unlocked position), try turning the board over and see if it comes out, maybe giving the board a gentle tap on the back.

A magnet could work, but it depends on the material of the pin; it'll be gold coated, naturally, but if it's nickel underneath it, it may work. For the record though, I don't really like the idea of waving a magnet around close to a motherboard, even if it is broken.
