Hi all ,
I need big time help about which sli 970 cards to buy for my money and best cooling best preformance and best warranty?

I can't make up my mind what to get its eather 980 single or 970 sli to get best fps in btf4 and all other games..

some shops tell me get evga some tell me get msi some tell me get asus so now am tottaly confused..

my thought is to get ASUS - gtx 970 strix DirectCU II 4 gig ( x 2 SLI )

but then i go and compare the base clock and boost clock and asus is acually the slowest out of all of other brands so am not sure what to do...

ASUS 970 Strix DirectCU II 4 gig 1114 mhz to Boost clock 1253 mhz ( $ 539 )

EVGA 970 superclocked ACX 4 gig 1165mhz to boost clock 1317 mhz ( $ 469 )

Gigabyte 970 GTX 970 G1 Gaming 4 gig 1178 mhz to boost clock 1329 mhz ( $519 )

MSI 970 Gaming 4 gig 1140mhz to boost clock 1279 mhz ( $519 )

If some can help me bigtime it would be much appriciated
I just want to get best prefomance and best fps in my gaming and everything else

Thanks all

All four are great cards, EVGA is noisy, otherwise good. Asus is a bit (very slightly) hotter than MSI and GB. MSI is the most silent, GB is an all round card but very big, length wise.

SLI 970 will pawn a single 980 in every single game.

I'd go with MSI, excellent cooling, silent, very very good clock and great OCing potential, awesome card overall for the price :)

They will all perform about the same, those close cores won't really do anything. Just choose what you find fit, and looks good in your case. I would go with the Strix :)

The GTX970 is 10 % slower than the GTX980, BUT the GTX980 is 60%+ more costly.
2 x GTX970s would GREATLY outperform a single GTX980 and cost less than 100$ more..

So in general sense, Go for the 970 SLI.

As for brands ASUS, and MSI are the best of the 900 series I believe. EVGA has been called out for there design to be flawed.

Hello Fellow Internet Amigo,
I am in the exact same position as you! :D  Feel free to DM me...
Anyway, what I'm doing is getting two 970's in SLi - one tomorrow and one in the nearby future... (Money etc..)
The performance to price ration for the 970 is absolutely INCREDIBLE compared to the 980 - seriously, its overpriced in comparison. IMO I'd get both 970 if you can as they will beat a 980 anyday in all games - including BF4. The brand that I'm going with is the Gigabyte G1 edition. I think its better in every aspect (performance, cooling, etc.) except for that fact that it is quite large, due to the 3 fans. I'm getting the Z11 case so cooling and space shouldn't be a problem. Also, what case and power-supply are you getting? These are both important so take your time and choose the right one.

Hope I helped - and good luck,

;)

I'm going to be SLIing later on, and couldn't decide between ASUS and MSI. In the end I went MSI because better cooling, better overclocking, thinner than dual slot design (better cooling in SLI) and the SLI bridge won't cover the MSI dragon & logo. Both are great, but especially because you're going to SLI I'd suggest the MSI.

MSI and Gigabyte 970s both OC and cool slightly better than the ASUS Strix. It's still a good card though.
Just remember that you'll get lower temps on the upper card if you go MSI due to how thin they are. (More space between GPUs)

I agree with Alex. Asus is in no way a bad card, but MSI and GB, as mentioned, are slightly better and seeing them cheaper than Asus, my vote goes to either.

I'm going to sit this round of GPU's out. If the prices on the GTX 780Ti come down I might SLI 2 of those but end of the year is coming and I have a feeling that we might see some high end 20nm Maxwell parts next year.

Yeah, tomorrow I'm getting one G1 970. From what I've heard it's one of the best, but the Strix and MSI are still great GPU's. Really, its personal preference and the environment you're in. For example, it wouldn't be the best idea to have an overheating GPU such as the 295x in Australia without sufficient cooling. If you overclock I'd get the MSI, if you want the most silent fans get the Strix, if you want the best performance out of the box - get the G1. I'm not much of an overclocker so my answer is the G1. I'll let you know in maybe a weeks time how it goes and overall quality. It's also important to remember that you can SLi with any brand of GTX 970.

Again, hope I helped -

^ Agreed, although the MSI is just as silent as the Strix.
Strix for looks and silence, Gigabyte for OCing and MSI for silence and OCing. :)

Just remember the Gigabyte doesn't stop it's fans from spinning at low loads, I really like that about the ASUS & MSI cards.

Also, anyone know how many G1 970's would fit in a Z11? Many thanks lol.

Any more than 2 would be overkill anyway, you're already getting better performance than an R95X2 :p

Fine choice, my vote still goes to MSI or GB for obvious reasons though.

Nope, but the reviews are excellent and Alex is going to get the very same card, you can ask him for a short review or his personal experience with the card, I'm sure he will be eager to share his thoughts :)

The 970's SLI'd Actually gets a better performance score soon as you hit 1440p and 4k then one 980 does at the same resolution.

As shown here.. pawns the 980 :D
