New PSU with Intel's Skylake chipset?

I apologize for my lack of knowledge but I am new to PC building.

Will it be required to upgrade my power supply if I decide to upgrade to Intel's Skylake architecture later next year?

I am building a PC currently and it would be nice to keep my current PSU if I upgrade in the future. I have the XFX XTR Series 550W. It's basically Seasonic's G Series repackaged by XFX with a new fan and fully modular. Will this be ok for Skylake? Or is it too soon to tell?

I have noticed that some power supply's are Haswell ready/certified and some are not. Does that mean they literally will not work? Why is this so? Does this happen with every new generation?

Solution
The PSU "may" not power back on after the system goes into a deep sleep state. It can cause crashes. You need to do a hard reset for it to function properly again. But as I mentioned a simple case fan may be the solution.

It will be compatible with Skylake chipsets. The "Haswell ready" PSUs work even if the PC has gone into deep sleep state. If you were using a PSU which was not "Haswell ready" you just needed to disable C6/C7 states in the BIOS. Though case fans didn't let the PSU shut down. But it was better to be safe than sorry.
If Intel introduces some new sleep states, you just need to disable them in the BIOS.

Thank you so much for your reply! I greatly appreciate it.

So is it even possible for a power supply to not be compatible/work with a chipset? All of the PSU's on Newegg that say "No" under the Haswell support parameter, does that mean they simply don't function during Haswell's sleep state or does it mean they don't power the system at all?
