how long will it take r9 280x to become obselete?

I mean to say that how many years would it take to see the r9 280x in the minimum requirements of future games guesses please?

It depends on how good is good enough for you. If you do not mind dropping details to medium, legend is probably right and you will be able to get 5+ years out of it.

I am still using a HD5770 and that is good enough for me - I do not care much about visual fluff (often gives me headaches) so I do not mind knocking details down when I need extra FPS - when I am not already knocking details down just to remove stuff that bothers me. I am not planning to upgrade my GPU until the 16nm models come out.

will low settings on this card on future games be better or worse than ps4?
