r9 280x vs ps4?

my rig:- fx 8320 and 8gb ddr3 ram
will low settings on this rig better or equal to ps4 games when this gpu can't play future games at medium or high?

Your rig will defiantly run circles around your ps4 even for future games. However, in a way your comparing apples to oranges, because a ps4 has it's own games with it's own graphics, where as a PC has a range of graphical options to choose from.

R9 280 x, FX 8320 and 8 GB DDR3 ram is super high end rig and is far better from ps4,only the thing is that PS4 uses 8 GB gddr5 ram which can achieve higher clock frequencies ,but you will get higher fps on higher resolution and higher settings in comparison to the ps4

future games means that more graphic demanding games will not be able to play on r9 280x on high or medium settings
so it would be playing at low settings so will low settings on this card on future games would be worse equal or better than ps4?

What the F is this questions. Why would you ask if it is better for future games in low settings even if we don`t know what are the future games.

If you can be specific like BF5 or Crysis 4 or Assassins creed 5 that will be clear.

You can also consider a Super mario 10000 to be a future game if it will be release next week or next month.

hey hey , you don't need to be condescending you know.

a 280x/8320 will smash a ps4 visually @ 900p/30fps, it will not even break a sweat.

now regarding "future proofing", there's no such thing with PC games. a newer better hardware will come along and new software that will push that said hardware to it's limits.

but i bet you that with the consoles getting stuck @ 900p/30fps, that 280x will last you 5 years or so.

if your'e just fighting your computer with PS4 then it can handle any future game at higher fps than PS4
PS4 has just 1GB ATI HD 7850 and R9 280x was a rebrand of HD 7970
So your rig is better than the PS4
