AMD Catalyst Control Center shows my 2nd GPU & CrossfireX enabled, but card is idle for all of my games and other problems.

So, I'm having problems with my CrossfireX setup. Specifically, a Sapphire AMD 7970 Dual CrossfireX setup. I recently reinstalled Win7, but started having this problem prior to reinstalling.

AMD Catalyst Control Center and my PC recognizes my 2nd GPU and so does MSI Afterburner. I noticed I wasn't getting activity in my 2nd GPU, showing 0% activity. Also, take in the fact the CrossfireX logo does not appear in my games. I've tried doing a test to see if I could control the fans in my 2nd GPU, and it appears it doesn't, it would just stay at 20% all the time. My 1st GPU is fine, I can control the fans.

Before all this happened. It worked fine before, now its just being a bother right now.

Things I've tried so far:
*Updated AMD CCC to a new beta
*Checked the CrossfireX bridge
*Went under the 3D applications in CCC, fiddled with the settings, nothing has changed

Also:
*Both GPUs have the same BIOS
*Motherboard is a ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77

Solution

Yes, and all gpu2 readings should be at %0.

Just to point out once again.. There is really no need for concern CCC disables the 2nd card and treats both as a single card. So you can't adjust separately as timings would go out of sync.. I ran crossfire HD 7850 for almost a year like that no issues full performance.

In the right hand corner of your taskbar you will see this:

The little CCC icon right click then goto somewhere in there and select enable CrossfireX badge.

Oh, that, well, I made sure that was enabled. Also, the post you mentioned earlier. Would it mean that in MSI Afterburner, when it shows GPU1 Usage, its also including GPU2's Usage as well?

I'm not entirely sure but.. can't you create a profile in CCC that allows non CFX games to take some advantage of Dual graphics?

Okay, I just tried Arma3, i got readings for both GPU1 and GPU2, and they have pretty matched. But the logo still isn't appearing. :/

I have made a Predefined profile for the the game, with:
Frame Pacing: ON
Amd CrossfireX: Optimize 1x1 (which worked out well)

Well, true, 50FPS is enough for me. The logo just gave me a quick way the CF was working right. Im actually running the game at medium settings with no AA, so getting some high settings with Low AA does impact the FPS greatly, only running Triple Screen setup though.

I see that is indeed something new to me, my 7850 pair never gave a reading on two cards. xD. Is that all your problems solved? If so make sure to choose an answer to close the thread.
