I bought win 7 ultimate with a computer about 4 years ago. A week ago, I have upgraded my computer to i7 fourth generation with an SSD hard drive. By a mistake, I have activate the win7
again and might be that I gave them my other e-mail address. This days I am receiving from Microsoft that they don't activate the windows and they gave me 30 days to buy new operating software.
How can I inform them and fix the problem???.

Solution

The OEM version has a product key and a DVD case in a cardboard sleeve.
The retail version comes in branded packaging.
If it is a retail version, simply call the phone number provided on the packaging to activate Windows.
The version of Windows that came with your old computer is an OEM version.
These cannot be activated again with a new motherboard.
Windows will continue to work, but is no longer legal and you won't be able to download software updates.
You should buy a new operating system.
