Here is my computer's specs:
AMD A8-6600k
16gig ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB GDDR5
ASRock ATX DDR3 1600 FM2 Motherboard

I am not sure if i want to get a second gtx 550 ti or instead get a gtx 760.
what are your thoughts on the matter?

Better performance from sli 560 ti. Although there may be less issues with one gpu. Can your mobo support sli?

We have no idea if your motherboard supports SLI.
We do not know what power supply you have.

Usually a single card is better for most people. The GTX760 will perform better at 1080p in MOST games.

The 560Ti quite outdated by today's standards. You say you would get a second 550ti which I think is probably just a typo, but if it isnt then your 560ti will run slower to sync with the 550ti.

In any case a 760 is probably the way to go, but why not wait a little for the lower 9XX series cards to surface. New tech is always preferable to old tech.

For example a 760 will be able to record your favorite moments in the background with shadowplay and save them in the background with taking very little resource (using the GPU to encode the video stream) but a 560ti in SLI wont be able to do that.

Also the 760 has double the ram of the 560ti which is starting to make a huge difference between 1gb and 2gb. 2x560ti still will only use 1gb effective RAM. Even 3gb is no longer enough in some games in higher resolutions, so I definitely recommend a 760 or wait until the 960 comes out probably next month if this is anything to go by: http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-960-track-releas...

You are welcome, one more thing I forgot to mention. With a 960 you wont have to upgrade your power supply which can cost you another 80$ or so but you probably have to with an extra 560ti.
