Hey,

Would a 280x be a considerable upgrade over the 660? Ive been looking on hwcompare and gpuboss and whatnot, but feedback from theses and other comparison sites vary and/or Im not tech savy enough to make heads or tails of the data provided.

What do you say?

Cheers,

Yeah id say it is.. For example.. the 660 is beaten by a 270X (Essentially a overclocked and revised 7870) let alone a 280X. The 760, (again a overclocked and revised 660) Beats a 270X by a small small margin... But the 280X beats it pretty well. So id say it is much better than a 660 overall. plus the more Vram is gonna help here soon too.

Imo get the GTX 770, it's better than the 280x at stock. When they are both overclocked they trade blows. Imo get the one which is cheaper. And yes it would be a considerable upgrade. I myself have GTX 660 Windforce and if I had the cash I would get the 770 instantly since it's the same price here at as the 280x.

Hey,

Thanks for the feedback.

I have a fx8320 at 4 ghz and 8gb ram 1600 (and a corasir vs650 psu). Would these bottleneck the 280x gpu?

Im looking at the Saphire r9 280x 3gb. It goes for 219 euros. The cheapest 770 goes for 330 euros. The reviews of the Saphire card arent so great though. The next 280x's are still cheaper than the 770 though.

No it won't bottleneck. The 8320 is a good match for the 280X and 650W is enough for those 2

No bottleneck will occur. Pretty weird prices u got there. But ure getting a very nice on the 280x so its nice. The Sapphire 280x should be good. I've read reviews and it runs good and cool.
