Both are EXCELLENT cards, you can't go wrong with either. MSI is quieter than GB and OCes a little better, so say most reviews. GB looks better (IMO) with a backplate, but looks can take a backseat vs performance. Also, MSI fans don't spin when temps are <50C, which's a useful feature, GB doesn't have this feature. Nothing bad really bad in any of them, but MSI has a slightly better OCing potential :)

People say many things...

Right now ANY GTX970 aftermarket cooled card is a good choice EXCEPT for the EVGA ACX.

Get whichever is cheaper.

Normally you would need to compare the EXACT card models, since the companies are irrelevant.

MSI all day long check reviews its the dominating 970 card at the moment because of its overclock abilities and its cooler being the best out at the moment. Plus fans don't spin till the card hits 50 c which is just epic lol mind that can be quite worrying if you don't no about it before hand lol

So you mean that MSI has more advantages than gigabyte in terms of overclocking and cooling performance?

Though very slight, most reviews say YES :)
