I believe and will. After excessive research AMD's plans for 2015-2016 will put them ahead of Intel.
AMD are planing to move to the 16-14-10nm process in the coming years and are also moving away from the old multi-core unit they currently have, and are investing in new technologies to dramatically drop their CPU and GPU wattages.

This is what I think will happen, what do you guys think about this, is it true or will Intel still come out infront?

AMD already wins in the $200-$250 range.

It is NOT a war, there is no final win or lose.

As a consumer I WANT AMD and Intel to constantly be competing, that causes HEALTHY competition and lower prices for US.

So please, close this thread before it turns into a completely pointless flame war.

AMD has previously had the upper hand significantly. I can't really say whether they'll get it back in future, but I'd hope so. Monopolies are a pain.

ARM might in future start gaining traction.

This is an advance warning to anyone who chooses to post: Ad hominem attacks, profanity, and other breaches of the rules will be dealt with.

I doubt they will defeat Intel in high end. But for the low - ultra low budget gamers they are king now, and could possibly come out king for the $200ish again sooner or later? As of now Intel seems to be leading. Let's just hope that AMD can keep up the competition so Intel prices won't shoot up :D

In terms of pure performance per clock, I don't see any indication that it will be the case. However, in terms of the lower price ranges, AMD dominates. And believe it or not, the hardcore gaming market is quite small. The lower range ($100-$200) is what most people can afford, so in a way, AMD is not in a bad position at all. As long as they can keep alive in that range, they'll be fine.

Their APUs are great as well, and actually have a higher single core performance compared to their FX series, so there is some hope.

I don't think its easy to compare the two. Both do their jobs well. I find that the currently AMD is make good budget CPUs instead of Intels model of making more expensive CPUs.

Also it matters what you want to do with your computer and your budget. So all in all, both companies are doing well and are on top just in different aspects.

Plus you never know they may find a new architecture or technology that blows everything out of the water. That is the fun of the computer world. Everything can completely change in 6 months.

I hope your know Amd is not budget a cpu. Intel has 4gen i3 or 4gen Pentium are budget cpu already beat amd in the low end range under $200

Keep in my intel has hd4400 or hd4600 while amd fx does not have they have AMD A-Series APUs but they are weaker cpus. AMD A-Series APUs need to drop the price in order to get in the budget

Amd is very much needed and shoudnt fall down or Intel will raise the Price higher

To echo what others have said, the main area where AMD is hurting at the moment is in the enthusiast market. At lower price-points, AMD does perfectly fine. It does not take much to be able to do the majority of tasks which we do on the computer - surf the web, e-mail, visit forums, and watch movies. It's when you enter the realm of heavy productivity, or hardcore gaming, that you can start to split hairs.
