Hi, I just got my first new PC. I installed my Mobo, RAM, CPU and Cooler, PSU and Graphics Card into my case. I attached an SSD, an HDD and a DVD drive also. There is also one fan that came with the case.

My problem is that when I turn it on, the fans LEDs turn on for a split second, and than turn off. My monitor also turns on but doesn't display anything. The first time I tried this I smelled something. In order to reproduce you have to switch off the PSU for 10 seconds, then try again.
All of my cables are in and correct, and my CPU is aligned and safe. I have tried re-arranging the cables, and almost anything I can think of. I also followed the guidelines for troubleshooting here.

Here is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/HeroCC/saved/GcjJ7P

Any help is appreciated!

I'm not overly knowledgeable in regards to this but did you make sure that everything was compatible? Everything runs off the PSU as well, so the more hardware you install, the more wattage it's going to use. If you've overloaded it, it could explain the smell?

Forgot about this post, if anybody needs the solution: I plugged a fan into both a power cord and fan port, I took it out of the power cord and left just the fan cord. Hopefully it fixed it for someone else!
