Hey guys i curently have a gigabyte r9 270x system , and a friend of mine has an evga geforce 670 from his previous build and he is willing to pass it to me for free :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130787&cm_mmc=SNC-YouTube-_-NETV-_-PH-_kVb3Jgw-_-14-130-787

so I was wondering , can I run both of them in a single mobo ? And if yes , will they work together to produce the video ( whatever ) or seperately (etc. activating one of tem will leave the other one doing nothing ) ?

Also , I would like someone to tell me if my psu can take that extra load : I am currently consuming 400W-430W in in-game enviroments , and I have a 600W Cooler master psu , is it powerfull enough ? You can see my system specs by hovering your mouse above my profile picture :p ( the cooler master 212 evo was replaced by the stock cooler because of a thrid factor )

Thank you (in advance) for the help :)

Your motherboard only has one PCI-Ex16 slot. There is no place to install a second PCI-E card.

That said, if you did have a motherboard with two PCI-Ex16 slots, then yes, you *may* be able to install both an AMD and an NVidia card. Depending on whether or not the separate drivers will work without interfering with each other. No, they would not work in conjunction to improve performance on a single application. You *may* be able to have on application work on one card and another application using the second card.

Again, given you current motherboard, this is a moot point.

Sorry Nvidia and Ati don't play together nicely. :) It's impossible to use them both. They will not CF or Sli. I would personally sell both cards and get a free upgrade. If it's okay will your friends of course.

If your MB could support 2 cards, back in the day there use to be a hack that would allow the two cards to work together. You could use the AMD card for everything and then use the Nvidia card for PhysX. Not sure if the hack still works for new gen cards.

But like others have said, the two cards can not be linked together for Crossfire or SLI. the only way to use them together is for the NVidia card to do PhysX and PhysX only since the amd card cant.
