I was thinking on buying a water cooler (the Corsair H110) but I've often seen on other threads people saying that some air coolers are better. What would you recommend and why?

My PC configurations:

- i7 5930k
- ASUS Rampage V Extreme
- 16GB RAM
- 3 TB HDD
- Corsair series AX 1200w
- 250GB SSD
- Radeon R9 295x2

Solution
the H110 does about 5*c better then a d14 air cooler. If it was me I would stick with an air cooler, the all in one coolers have been know for their pumps to fail. Once they do your looking at an RMA or replacing the whole unit, that will take your system down for a few days. Air coolers just don't die even if a fan goes out you can stll run the system.

If your wanting to do major overclocking with the system then go with a full custom loop.

Im pretty sure, for a bit over $100 you can buy a Custom Liquid Cooling Kit. Its way better than both H110 and any air cooler. however if it leeks your done. But you could get a water/liquid resistance motherboard like the Asrock OC Formula.

I don't plan on doing any overclocking, so it should be okay. So what air cooler would you recommend?

the best cheap air cooler is Cool master Hyper 212 EVO @ $34.99
next would be Noctua NH-D14 @ $78.99 has a promo for $9 off at newegg till 10/2
best air cooler is the Noctua NH-D15 @ $99.99

those would be my top 3 to choose from, I'm in the middle of a new build and am moving away from my full custom water loop to a NH-D14, I've had it sitting on my desk for 5 months now, got it right before the D15 came out.

A bit off-topic now. I am thinking on buying either the Radeon R9 295x2 or 3 GTX 970 (it's about he $ame value), but I'm hesitant on buying the latter because of possible overheating problems. Do you think either the NH-D15 or the Corsair H110 might handle 3 GTX 970?

well the 970 run cooler then the 770s, the new reference 970/980 now come with backplates the have little doors that can me taken off to allow extra cooling to the card above it when in sli. If you get a reference style card with the back plate it will blow all the hot air out the back of the case. So the cards will no ill effect on the cpu cooler.

I'm probably gonna buy the one from ASUS, do you know if this model has the back plate?

Could you link me the right one? On amazon or newegg, if possible
