Can you buy a home server to run 24/7 and use it as a seedbox?

If yes, does it actually gets higher download/upload speeds then a normal pc? and a hired virtual server?

Does linux download / upload torrents better then windows 8.1?

can a normal pc also being used as a server?

Your only going to upload/download as fast as your ISP will allow you to go. It doesn't matter if you have a NASA server bank in your basement if you have 10mb down 2mb up that's all your going to be able to push out.

No. That all depends on your Internet Service Provider and your subscription level

Neither. Should be about the same

As a seedbox, yes. As a server (running server software), maybe. That is going to depend on what drivers are available for what operating system.
