Hi guys, got in from work last night and found that my PC wasnt connected to the internet. I checked all the cables etc and everything seemed fine. I decided to go to cmd and use ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew but got stuck on renew and the computer gave the error that the DNCP (or something similar to this) server could not be reached and that I should reset my modem.. so I did.. and nothing happened. I then had a fiddle round with the cables and managed to get the PC connected again without the 360 in. I then plugged the ethernet from the switch back into the 360 and that connected and the PC's connection dropped again. I have no idea what to do. Please help!

Reset your devices again in this order:

powercycle your modem (unplug, wait 10 sec, plug back in) and wait for it to boot all the way up, powercycle your router and wait for it to come back up, powercycle your switch and wait for it to come up.

Post results here :)

Sorry, just realised I called my hub both a router and a modem, :??:
I have only a router, no modem. Ill try this in that order though and just ignore anything about the modem.

If you have internet, you have a modem :)

You probably have Modem plugging into a router, correct?

If so, do the same things, with powercycling modem all the way first, then the router

Its a sky hub wireless router. Anyway, I power cycled the router and the switch and now everythings working again. It must have been the switch which had been fucking things up as I hadnt previously power cycled that.. I now feel like an idiot. Thanks for your help though!
