Hi guys,
I'm leasing a modem/router combo from TWC at the moment and it's been giving me fits. At first it would keep dropping the Internet connection, so I switched it to bridged (non-NAT) mode as suggested in some TWC forums. I turned off the wireless and the DHCP, since I have my own router (ASUS RT-AC66U). For the moment, that seems to have made it stop dropping the connection (the Online LED is now always lit, before it would go off and have to reconnect).
However, my Internet connection is still pretty spotty, there's a lot of delay whenever I try to browse anything. Curiously, it seems like any computers or devices connected wirelessly suffer a lot less lag than my wired desktop (it's wired to my router).
Additionally, I am unable to access the modem/router through going to 192.168.0.1 any longer, because for the past 2 weeks I've gotten a screen saying "your unit is being updated, this will take a few minutes" but it's been 2 weeks. I've tried resetting the modem multiple times but it always goes straight to firmware mode.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can try?
*also, my router is running Asuswrt-merlin v376.47
