Hi! I'm having issues with my factory overclocked "PNY gtx 760 XLR8" edition.

Now to be clear the card works fine and I don't see it as being defective in the sense that the hardware's broken or anything.

But, when I first received it, I could not play many games like black flag or Battlefield 4 past the 5 minute mark because the games would crash on me. Further inspecting the issues, I realized the cards factory clock rates were just too high.

My packaging states that my card should cap out at around 1176 mhz, but using precision X to monitor the clock speeds, I noticed they go as high as 1250 mhz. And once it does hit that mark most of my games tap out and crash.

Tried to RMA my card through newegg and while I was given a replacement card, it has the exact same issues as the one before it.

I was able to solve my issues by just simply underclocking it to the boxes specifications. The card doesn't overheat, crash or anything anymore and it's been running fine since I got it last Christmas. I do however don't like the fact that I have to use software just to underclock it so it stays stable. I've heard somewhere around the net that there's custom bios that I can use to remove the stock overclock, however I also hear from others that it could be risky and brick my card or something similar. My questions is if there is any way to revert the card from its factory overclock to normal stock speeds? I would be willing to flash a bios on my GPU, however I haven't been able to find any by googling it...
