I am planning to build a gaming PC at some point soon, and I am wondering how long it will last? Since I don't make much money at age 15 (and this is costing me a LONG TIME's worth of money), I'm hoping it will be able to play games at 60fps+ on high/ultra, maybe medium. I will be squeezing as much as I can out of this build before I upgrade. I'll probably add another 790 in a few years, and an SSD eventually.
Specs:
Gtx 970 (will OC eventually)
i7 4790k (will OC eventually as well)
Asrock extreme6
G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB 2400mhz
WD 1TB 7200rpm (blue)
Corsair RM1000 1000w PSU
Fractal Design Define R4

But I won't be able to do that for probably another 2 years.

the GTX 970 alone will last you 3 years, in all likelihood. SLI them and you'll get a pretty long-lasting rig

Unless you're unhappy with what one 970 will do now, might as well skip the SLI and simply replace it with whatever card is in the same price range 3 years from now. Same cost (actually less if you sell the old card), and you end up with a new card instead of a pair of 3-year-old ones. Not to mention in the meantime, you'll use a ton less power, and can probably step down from that 1000W power supply.

They don't call me "El Cheapo" for nothing.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to SLI?
