So I plan on making this build

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GYrKnQ

But theres a notification saying that I need to BIOS update the mobo "prior" to using the haswell refresh cpu. How would I do that if im unable to use it unless I build the whole system? Would I have to have a cpu that runs on it then update it using that then switch to the pentium?

If thats the case would I just have to shell out the money for a h97 or z97 mobo since I dont have another CPU since ive have the same laptop for 7yrs?

Yup, thats if whoever you buy it from dont do it. Or if a local PC shop wont do it. Another CPU not another mobo

Thats the first thing I check when I build.

Whether the mobo supports the CPU I'm going to install on it. If it doesnt I'll send an email to the place I'm getting it from and ask them if they can flash the BIOS with a lower spec CPU. Before they send it to me
The only way you can do that is ask whoever youre getting it from to install a lower spec CPU, flash it then put yours back in

Before they send it.

Or once you get it go to a local PC shop ask them if they can do it.

Or you'll have to buy a lower spec CPU flash it then put the G3258 in

Those are the only options

So I basically have to shell out an extra $40 for a low end h97/z97 mobo since Im basically at my absolute max budget?
