Here is the story about 3 weeks ago I bought a gtx 770, and today I sent it back to tiger because Duhhh.

So in a week or so I will be looking to get a new card (when refund hits). I mostly did it because I was going to get a 970, however I have been seeing that the 780 ti's price has dropped of a cliff.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500322&cm_re=gtx_780_ti-_-14-500-322-_-Product

So in the end that right there is my max budget (maybe a little more not much) so what are your all's thoughts gtx 780 ti or 970 or am I missing one

Also pc specs
Mobo: Gigabit (fairly plain)
Cpu: 3.1 i5 ivy
Ram: 16 gb ddr3
psu: 600 RaidMax (yeah i'm going to replace it just not yet.)

I love the crap out of my 780ti's so it a hard choice. If you had the budget I'd say 980 but if it's between those the 780ti for just a hair over $400 imo is worth it although they use more power than the 970's do so the 970 would be a very solid choice too. It just depends what u can get a 780ti for vs what you can ACTUALLY get a 970 for. I know the 970 is priced at $330 but once retailers/other vendors like Msi or asus get them the price can jump. So if it's only a difference of say $30-$40 I say get the 780ti of it's a bigger gap in price between the two then get the 970.
GTX 970 ! Enough performance , 4GB VRAM , inexpensive

azzazel_99 I think you just stated what I was kind of thinking rockie has a good point as well. I would go with the 980 but that is to far of a jump for what seems like not much or card.
So thought right now unless a 780ti goes on sale big time ill go with the 970 and go with more upgrades.
