If its got onboard video the card you put in will disable it. If you want both to work you have to go into the BIOS and enable the option. If it's there

The power supply isn't powerful enough I think. Needs probably 350 and that machine seems to have a 300, also there is no gurantee any HP will accept an upgraded card, hit and miss, due to BIOS limitations.

so does this mean my pc does not have the right specs. ??

Hard to say for certain. It could be you just need a little better power supply which is cheap enough to get but before you do that you need to verify the card is compatible with that HP's motherboard/BIOS, and that will take a little research. Google the card and the HP model and see if anyone else has been able to make it work.

It is possible the PSU is able and what you really need is a BIOS upgrade.

If it was mine I'd try putting a decent 400 watt PSU in there and hope for the best.

Before you do anything else you should establish that the grpahics card itself isn't at fault - which means finding a friend who has a PC you can put it in to see if it works

Sorry that didn't do it. I would try HP support or support group and see if that card is supported. I know for a fact HPs are somewhat picky about graphic cards. A BIOS upgrade might also be worth a try.
