I bought 1866 because it was the fastest supported by my motherboard. I am familiar with overclocking and things like that, but more such with video cars. I am curious of how to push my RAM to the speed of 1866, or if it is worth it, at the moment its at default.

Computer Specs-

AMD FX-8350 @ 4.2GHz(turbo) Unlocked
Geforce Gtx 750ti OC (stock asus overclock)
Kingston HyperX Beast Series 1866mhz
Motherboard-ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0

HyperX Beast 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model KHX18C9T3K2/8X (full model and what not) CL9

go into BIOS and select the XMP profile to enable the advertised speeds.

You're not dense, I wish that RAM packaging told you how to enable the advertised speeds because it's not very intuitive that you have to basically overclock your RAM.

1866 RAM is 1-click OC with guaranteed stability at advertised speed.

Why bother overclocking the memory that will do ZERO for any benchmark? (hint: toms' proved overclocking memory does nothing).

You can't enable XMP on AMD systems. Instead you need to set it up manually.

I searched around in my bios, i found the XMP #1 / 2 / 3 profiles on the view Slots for my RAM, but could not slect one, under the AI Tweaker, I found the auto/manual/D.O.C.H.P or some shit, not really sure, but it auto sets everything to a speed sleected, so its like the XMP profile more or less.

You got it, AMD has so many different ways of auto setting DRAM it's ridiculous, there's th DOCP you used, some newer mobos have XMP, some others use EOCP and they also use their latest AMP...regardless of what the mobo uses, keep an eye on things, for 1866 and up you mightt often need to add a little extra voltage to the DRAM itself and or the MC (memory controller) voltages (usually called the CPU/NB)

Yeah mine says it has XMP profiles 1-4, but would not show options to set them, it also has AMP but no option to turn it on or off lol, so I figured DOCP worked for it.
