Hello everyone. Today I pressed a button to start my computer, but it almost instantly made some strange sound (like a tesla coil, idk) and shut down. After that I could easily smell burned electronics or something. And my PC is dead, I press the power button - nothing happens.
First thing that popped in my head was that my PSU failed (tecnoware 650w) and I went to the store to buy a new psu (Fortron FSP 700w 88+). I installed it and my PC is still dead - no power, no signs of life. I disconnected all my other components (GPU, RAM, HDD, SSD), but my PC is still dead. Tried to remove mobo battery, clear cmos - no luck.
Help pls. Is my mobo dead? My tecnoware psu could not kill my mobo? Could it? It is written in the spec that psu has overvoltage protection, short circuit protection...

Never heard of that brand for psu, so it's possible it blew up and took the mobo with it, who knows what else. Although it may say it has all of those features, doesn't really mean it has them all.

Yeah after reading it looks like the PSU you had in there before was(being kind) bad. I think it blew up and took the motherboard with it. It wasnt even 80 plus certified.

It appears that my old psu is okay, mobo is okay, only cable connecting psu to power socket burned.
