A few weeks ago my GTX 780 'broke' -it isn't broken as it still works but shows a lot of static on the screen-
I am using my old GTX 650ti, if I were to use the GTX as the primary and have the 780 as a secondary on SLI would this help performance?

(sorry but I don't know a lot about SLI)

More about : sli

Those cards can't be placed in SLI. What you should do is RMA that GTX 780 and use the GTX 650Ti in the mean time

You need to use identical model numbered cards in order to use them in an SLI configuration.
e.g. two GTX780s or two GTX 650Tis
