Ok i waited till the 25th of September, because some "speculation" on AMD announcing the 300 series. I can't find anything about it on the interwebs. (waste of time)

Which now leaves me between the gtx 980 or the 970
I do have the cash to buy 1 GTX 980 or 2 970's I wont be playing 4k any time soon maybe a couple of months after Christmas and by then i'll be able to get another 980.
But is it really worth it, i hear only 10% better performance between the 2 for almost 50% of the price. I was always told buy the best you can afford (which means the 980) i would like my graphics card to last and don't have to upgrade it next year

Currently running i7 4770k
h110 corsair
16gb ram
rm 850 corsair psu
asus z87 pro
full tower case.

Any suggestions i would love to hear.
Or any other products available or a link to what AMD are releasing.
Many thanks

If you have money to spare get the 980. The 970 is a much better price to performance card but if you get a 980 it will be beastly for 1080p and then in the future you can sli. If you get 970 sli then you will also be a beast at 1080p but as you go up in the resolutions and more years into the future it wont perform as good as the 980's.

So! Since the performace is there i would get one or two 970's and they will last you for many years.

I would love to go 4k in the future. But I've been told 3 980 and with a 850 it's not possible I don't think

No it isnt, but if you get 2 way sli 970's then you can get another one in the future and then possibly sell them for two 980's. Lots of opportunities
