Hello, I posted about my FRAPS problem before, but little did I know it is not only FRAPS.

Overnight, FRAPS suddenly started dropping fps to 20 or lower from 50-90fps. I'm using the SAME settings as I always had. I have tried all these 'solutions' listed:

Defragged Harddrive
Harddrive Seq. Speed is 32 read, 22 write.
Got rid of all viruses/malware/spyware/adware using MalwareBytes
Restored computer to a previous date when fraps worked
Ran dskchk.
Cleared HD space so I now have 280GB free
Removed and reinstalled Fraps
Used previous version of FRAPS.

Now after I've done all these things, Im still dropping to 20fps (I dont have 20fps checked on fraps settings either)
I have even tried Action! and I am still dropping to 20 or lower so I don't think this is just Fraps that is causing a problem. Please, please, please reply--as I am very very frustrated with this entire situation!

Are you using the same HDD for OS / Games / recordings?
if so, that's defently why it's not running smoothly, the HDD just can't keep up.
have you tried a recorder that DOESN'T set cap your framerate to what it records? FRAPS for example always runs your game in the same framerate as it's recording, and if your HDD only achieves 20fps of write...

Try Dxtory trial, it allows you to freely set the framerate on the recording and not have the gameplay follow that same fps. etc. try setting Dxtory to 20fps recording, maybe you'll be able to play at a higher fps then.

Also try ShadowPlay (if you have a Nvidia gpu 600-series or newer) or GVR (AMD's version in the AMD Gaming Evoloved program). Both allows you to set the max write per second.

Why did it work before? And I have a laptop so I cant get a second HDD :/ /

Also, I cant get shadowplay since I have Intel.

Tried DxTory, still drops to below 20fps

Try Dxtory, else it might be that some new program or something is using your HDD, or it might just be the game you're playing that's using the HDD more than normal, i was using a HDD for games and recordings and it ran like shite.
If your pc is downloading something it might also take write speed from your HDD.
if you're using Intel graphics, im amazed how you where even able to achieve a playable experience while recording in the first place, you haven't changed settings ingame or anything?

Yes it worked before with Intel Graphics, same game settings and everything. I even noticed if I reduce the game settings even more, it still is at 20. I tried, DxTory--same thing happens. How do I see if a program is using my HD?

These problems seemed to happen after I followed this tutorial trying to increase minecraft fps:

Intel core i5
4gb ram
2.40Ghz

I also noticed, this is only happening in Minecraft.

have you tried turning down some programs running in the background? so you can have extra physical memory. you could use razor game booster and turn the game settings down.

OR

Perhaps you could try to install a better recording software called open broadcaster (OBS) and it's totally free. if you need to know how to use it, look for tutorials in youtube and there's tons of it.

EDIT: Forget to mention, you could try lowering the game's resolution a bit to ease up some extra memory
