Hello ! This is the first time i plan to buy a graphic card (GTX 970) near the momment of its release and i'm not familiar about all this out-of-stock, pre-order thing. (i live in canada and it's out of stock everywhere)

So, my question: I want a GTX 970 for early november. (i don't need it earlier than november) Do you think it's safe to assume they will be largely avaliable by then ? Or must i absolutely pre-order now ?

Thanks !

Solution
Ask the shop where you want to buy it. I think by November there'll be stocks again. And hopefully not just reference cooler models. Same with the 980's - which is even worse.

Nobody is currently selling 970s with the reference cooler, because it's too expensive and far too powerful for the card.

You do realize that it's actually a really good, quiet cooler, right? I would far prefer a reference 980 to an aftermarket one - it'll be cooler, quieter, won't dump heat back into the chassis, and is pretty sexy looking.

HA, i didn't even think about checking with the shop. Checked NCIX forums (actually i didn't even realised they had a forum), and they are talking about having it in-stock next week. yay !

Thanks !

Can you post a link to the post? I ordered a 970 STRIX from NCIX Canada XD
