The 3.5 bays use a tool-less rail system with oversized Torx head screws (4) screwed into the sides of the drive (or 2.5 to 3.5 adapter in my case) which then slides into the rail until it clicks into place and locks the drive in place. HP either cannot or will not give me the part number for these special screws. Any suggestions?

There will be hardware suppliers local to you who should be able to supply a screw that will work

I have checked several hardware stores as well as electronic parts stores. The barrel-shaped head on these torx screws are larger than any I can find on a screw with the same thread and similar length.
