I possess a Pentium G3258 Processor and it has been performing poorly. I have been disappointed with it as it is excessively hot, overclocks horribly, and is extremely voltage hungry. It also seems to have markings on the sides on the heat sink. It seems strange. I would like to know, is this simply some bad silicon or is it a mistake on my part? Thank you. Here is an image of the CPU. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B47RbTgaYG3ATkVPY0F2eE5zZzdQMGlEYmdfWHhieVpjbjY4/edit?usp=sharing

Solution
Those marks are made by the socket lock, put new thermal paste and reapply the heatsink, most people can get decent speeds at low voltages and good temps even with cheap h81 mobos and the stock heatsink.

Thank you for all the answers. I used the stock heat sink and thermal compound. I wiped it off for the photo. I did hear that some of the recent batches have been preforming poorly. Could that be the issue? I will put some new thermal grease on the processor and reseat the heat sink. Let's see what happens.
