I have a Dell 1525 laptop which started out as Vista Home Premium, later upgraded to 7 Home Premium. I had to replace a totally crashed hard drive, installed as a "fresh install" but since I can't find my OEM Dell reinstall disks. How can I activate? I have my OEM Vista code on my laptop, and have my 7 upgrade code. Help!

Solution
Install Win 7 and do not enter the product key. Boot into Win 7 and insert your Win 7 DVD and perform an upgrade (yes I know, this is redundant). Enter your product key when asked during the "upgrade" install. That's it.

Well, it was redundant, and I forgot how slow Windows installs were, but that did it. Thank you SOOO much for your help. I am back up and running. Almost back to normal now! Thank you again!
