I use my laptop mainly for school. I'm going to school for Computer Networking so we run a lot of virtual labs on VMware. I use my laptop for all of that stuff. It feels a little sluggish though and I think because of the hard drive. I believe its a 5,400 RPM drive. My question is, with these specs, should I upgrade to an SSD? Or is it a waste and just wait to get a new laptop? I'm thinking the SSD but I just want some opinions.

It's a Lenovo P400
- Windows 8.1
- 8 gigs of RAM
- I7 3632QM 2.20 GHz
- 14 inch display

Definitely worth upgrading to an SSD - your present laptop has good specs. Get an SSD 120 GB or higher (240 GB preferred).

Yeah I was looking into a 240 gig for 110.00 which is a crazy good deal. I just feel like its a little boggy sometimes. It really must be the hard drive.

240 GB SSD will be the ideal size. Another advantage of the SSD will be a slight increase in battery life between charges.
