Hello! I have a Dell Studio XPS 9100 with a 525w PSU and i know that it PSU have 3 rails with 18A each one.

the PSU has a specification that says max combined power in +12VA & +12VB +12VC output is 500W, so 500W / 12V = 41,6A

This is the picture:
http://data.stuartconnections.com/object/image?p=7710&i=2

the GTX 760 non reference needs a 500W PSU but the Zotac GTX 760 AMP says that needs a 600W PSU so i don't know if it will work.

I have this Computer:

DELL Studio XPS 9100
i7 930 (max TDP = 130w) (no OC)
3*2gb of RAM 1333Mhz
AMD HD 5670
Sound Card Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme HD Audio Controller
1xHDD 500gb
some fans that comes whit the PC
BD-ROM

when i bougth the computer i could chose for a HD 5870 with the same PSU and in this forum i readed that it was possible to put a HD 5970 in it!! and i also readed that it is possible to put the GTX 760 non reference and a someone who put a GTX 770 too!!

So somebody can help me whit this? i don't know if my PSU is going to explote :E

Sorry for my horrible English, I'm actually learn it :)

Best regards!

Based on the two 75 Watt 6-pin PCI-E Supplementary Power Connectors on the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 760 AMP! Edition [ZT-70402-10P], its maximum theoretical power draw is 225 Watts.

On Zotac's spec sheet for the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 760 AMP! Edition [ZT-70402-10P] it shows 185-watt max power consumption.

If your 575 Watt PSU has one 6-pin and one (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors then that means that it is fully capable of powering the system with that graphics card.

It is not the power supply's wattage that determines whether or not it is sufficient to power that system with that graphics card.

See the system power consumption of the heavily overclocked system specified in this graph with the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 760 AMP...

thanks for reply!

I'm glad to hear that, I just can not understand why the technical specifications of zotac recommend 600W

look:
http://zotacusa.com/specsheet/ZT-70402-10P.pdf

some of the sellers from my country says that the PSU is not sufficient,

I know that the AMP Edition consume more than others, so I do not know if the power would be enough and I do not understand how to calculate it.

best regards!

Totally agree

Thank you very much for your help.

The 600W rating is because they are trying to account for the shoddier power supplies out there. They want to make it as fool resistance as possible, if your PSU says "600W" in big letters on the label you will be fine, but there are many PSUs that don't have overly inflated labeling so a 500W PSU could work well too, they just have to be careful.

The Dell PSUs as of late have been quite robust, your 525W will do just fine, the 600W recommendation is for if you had something like this, its listed as being 75W more powerful, but actually has 50W less where it matters.
