Hi. I recently reinstalled a new copy of Windows 7 Ultimate on both my laptop and my desktop. My laptop first. It works perfectly fine. Everything like new and how it should be. On my desktop I can't connect to the internet. I've installed the correct network driver for my Gigabyte P55a-ud3 motherboard, but the troubleshoot is giving me an answer as if my ethernet cable is not plugged in. I thought maybe the problem was within the cable, but it works fine through my laptop. But it is not recognized through my desktop? Anyone have any answers for this?

Does it say the ethernet drivers are working in device manager?

Yes it does, sorry I didn't include that. The drivers always install perfectly.

Did you install the chipset drivers?? Try deleting the ethernet entry dont delete its drivers. Then reboot. See if that fixes it

Yes I installed all the drivers. All of them took the installation perfectly. Also, I thought I may have had an orange light when I plug the ethernet cable into the network adapter, but there isn't one anymore. But I don't know if I am just making the orange light up in my head from another PC.

The ethernet port isnt broken or anything is it. If it did turn on, it may not be making contact with the port properly

No. I don't think it's broken because I was using the internet with the same cable with the same port, today, before I re-installed windows on both my computers.

Yes & I did have internet for maybe 10 minutes before it stopped working randomly. I tried restarting before installing the drivers I needed.
