Weird HDMI Signal Loss in One Room

Sigh. I hate when weird stuff happens, where you can tell there's some odd thread connecting it, but no idea what it could be. I have my desktop in my office, but split off a mirrored display to another monitor in my living room (with a USB keyboard and mouse I can use it in both rooms). It's a 50 ft Bluerigger cable, CL3 rated, etc. It's worked fine, but the other day, my monitor will go off, then come back on as it's losing signal. Under normal circumstances, I'd say it was the length, although it's worked fine for a long time.
BUT (and here's the weird), my wife has her desktop in the living room. Short HDMI cable (as she isn't splitting to two monitors like I am). Her's is doing the same thing, monitor going on and off when it loses signal. They both started doing it at the same time, a few days ago. So I figure it has to be something in the room interfering with the signal, but the cables aren't running past anything. (We are actually running them across the floor until the electrician can run them under it). But I hate to do that until I figure out what's going on. Two separate computers, one with a 50 ft cable and in the other room, her's with a 6 ft cable right next to the couch. What in the world would cause that a week ago after months of no problems? Nothing changed in the room setup. Appreciate any help where to start narrowing it down.

In case anyone else runs across this, it's some kind of weird issue with the Nvidia drivers. Hadn't updated either computer lately and seems something running was causing a conflict. I finally saw a message flash up about it when the screen went out.
