I'm going to be using Ubuntu, unless a friend or family has an extra Windows 7 or 8.1

I'll be working on 2D and little 3D. My main focus right now is mobile games and Minecraft modding.

If there is any laptop for around the same price I'd like to see that too. My dad isn't too fond of the idea of me building a computer even though this isn't too expensive. My dad thinks I'm going to be travelling and so I'll need a laptop. The truth is that I hardly go anywhere and if I do, I can just use our tablet when I'm somewhere else.

I'm planning on upgrading to an intel processor in 6 months or whenever I can, that is if I can convince my dad to let me build one. Even my friends have done it too.

More about : good budget build

Your build looks fine. However, I would not plan on changing to an Intel processor in 6 months, as you will need to change the motherboard as well.

6 months was only my estimate(could be more or less), but I do understand that I'll be needing a new mobo. I might even just make a new build.
