Gaming build 2014, what do you think?!

Ok, before i buy all these parts, i am just wondering what the toms hardware community has to say about my build. I am stepping up from a laptop that i have had for about 4 years, so i'm really excited! The build is pretty much just for gaming online (MMOs), web browsing, ts, and watching streams! I'm looking to get max\ultra settings out of this build.

Games: Guild wars 1 and 2, RS3, WoW, LoL, Csgo, bf4. Please tell me what you think about the build and are all parts good quality for a long lasting build!

No unfortunately, at this point I can only sell it for at most $250 and if I buy the gtx 970, it's going to be a $70 dollar upgrade which isn't worth it because my current games don't actually need it. It's just great for future-proofing had I bought it originally instead of the gtx 770. Classic shell is a simple program to make windows 8's interface feel like windows 7. It offers a real start menu and other tweaks. My main issue was with the start menu anyway.

Looks like you did your research. This is not a big deal but I would go with windows 8.1 for faster speed. Just download classic shell or similar software and it would feel like windows 7.

Well, with the gtx 970 being just 30 bucks more than the gtx 770, it makes no sense to buy a new gtx 770 right now. Also I assume that his budget is around $800.

I went with a GTX 760 because i thought it would be great for the games i play at $209.. Also the GTX 970 is about $329 which would bring my build total over 1k, i like to see it under 900 :) And there isn't that big of a difference between 760 and 770.

I got the gigabyte gtx 770 at the end of August for $300. It works great for my purposes, but I was so annoyed to find out how cheap the gtx 970 was when it first came out. Only 30 bucks more expensive for significantly better performance. T_T. You might want to wait a couple of weeks for the gtx 960 to come out to see what the pricing is.

Yeah that would be the smart idea, good point. Sorry to hear you bought that 770, maybe you could sell it for what you got sinse it's pretty much brand new..

Also.. i really hate windows 8.1 .. like so bad, that's why i chose to get 7 again. What the heck is a classic shell?
