Gtx 780 ti vs Gtx 980

GTX 780 ti or GTX 980
I have the option of buying a gtx 780ti for $500-$550 or gtx 980 for $650
Should I buy the older card or wait till more sales near the holidays. Also if I get the gtx 780 ti which manufacturer is better (msi gaming vs asus direct cuii)

the gtx 980 is better, altough, in some of the benchmarks, the performance of the 980 is a bit better

the power usage from the gtx 980 is lower then the 780ti(70-80 watts under full load depending on the model)
it runs cooler, this also depends on the model by how much it runs cooler.
I added a link with some benchmarks for you to check out.
I'd go for the gtx 980, also because of the exta VRAM.
the 780ti is a very good card and is futureproof, but the 980 is even better and will last you even longer. it's worth the extra money in my opinion
