I have Lenovo C260 All in one desktop which came along with Windows8 64 os. Now I want to install Windows 7 32 bit os, how to do this without disturbing Recovery partition. If I had taken backup of OS initially, how to restore with it.

I dont think the recovery partition will work if it's for Windows 8 64 bit / if Windows 8 was on it originally.

And you're going to install 32 bit. They're not compatible with each other. Since they're different versions of windows and architecture.

You cant use a 64 bit system to restore a 32 bit system

You'll have to copy it to something else but putting it back on maybe another matter. Unless you pull the hdd out and put it in something else to do it. If you go back to 64 bit

A better option would be buy another hdd and install Win7 on it. That way if you want to go back to 64 bit, all you have to do is put the hdd back in

the recovery partition for win8 is not likely to work with what you want to do.with all the options to make win8 more like win7 there is absolutely no reason to downgrade to win7.and why on earth would you want to install a 32bit os that will only recognize about 3.25gb of ram??? please rethink this one or at least explain why.

A much better solution might be to use Windows 7 in a Virtual Machine.
VirtualBox, for instance.

This way, you don't have to mess up the existing Windows 8 install.
