Hey which GTX 980 should i get from this shop? http://www.cplonline.com.au/catalogsearch/result/?q=gtx...

Also 1 quick question, can i do SLI with different other brands of the GTX 980 or do they have to be the same because i am afraid they might be sold out in the following years.

I would grab the ASUS STRIX or MSI models, they are some of the best cards around right now.

You can SLI from different manufactures as long as its the same base card, and same memory amount. The faster of the two cards will be slowed to meet the slower.

Go for the MSI version
or you could go for any of them EXCEPT EVGA
MOST FAULTY PRODUCTS ARE OF EVGA

That is a broad, and mislead statement.
EVGA has some of the best quality cards around, though they did hit a rough spot with the 970s and 980s with misplaced coolers on their cards that only make 2/3 heatpipe contacts with the GPU. This does not mean they are faulty, just louder.

^ Ya. EVGA is great. If they designed their cooler properly, I probably would have bought one.

Could always go with a reference card from EVGA as they don't have the issue. Then you still get their excellent customer service and such. They are achieving similar clock speeds with a reference blower design, so I don't see how it really matters. I am a big EVGA and Gigabyte guy myself. MSI is good, there colors clash with my system so they are out for me. Asus make a good product but their customer service these days isn't very good. I had to RMA a 780ti for a customer of mine and it was a nightmare. Remember the Strix only has one 8 pin, so the overclocking won't go as far as say the MSI or the Gigabyte G1. It's really all preference, there is no wrong answer.

Yeah I wish MSI went with a black/white design, it would have looked amazing. Or if they made the shroud interchangeable mmmm yeah.
