I just finished installing my i5 3570k proccesor on my GA-Z77X-UD3H motherboard. but i am looking to overclock my cpu to about 4.0.

i want to buy the hyper 212 evo and replace my original heatsink.

Okay even though i already installed my original heatsink 1 day ago would it be okay if i took it apart to put on the 212 evo. would i have complications with the old glue that came with original heatsink?

Also my tower just has 2 120mm fans right now. would i be okay?????

Solution
That mobo is sufficient for overclocking, and yes buy new Thermal Paste and would do, preferably something widely used like Arctic Silver. What is your case. The Hyper 212 Evo should be sufficient for a pretty good OC.

A guide to removing thermal paste, and yes it does but isn't exactly the best for overclocking. The case is splendid,

Your link idoesnt really favor buying thermal paste considering it leads to nothing but another thread with no resolved answer over is it worth it. A few people there agree with you and a few with me. Honestly it backs up that you don't need to buy thermal paste judging by the responses.

$7 is no big deal this is true but it is still just a very small difference in temps. Cooler Masters paste ranges between 1.1 to 1.4 degrees worse than AS5. This difference is not significant enough to get a higher overclock or let you reduce fan speeds for noise control, therefore although cheap, it is essentially pointless.

This post was in response to the fact the OP asked how to clean thermal paste off of a cpu. Granted I didn't reply to it, a failure on my part which lead to you misinterpreting what I said.
|EDIT| I did reply to the correct question.
