Hey Guys,

Recently my brother built a pc rig exactly the same as my own (except with an SSD instead of a HDD and with an extra fan), and after testing it out on Unturned he got roughly 60-80 FPS on max settings. The next day, after moving the rig to his room he gets roughly 20-30 FPS. I downloaded Unturned just for comparison, and I could run it on max at 60-80 FPS on the same settings. We then tested it on Magicka and mine could run significantly better.

As he had only recently bought it, he could do a full system reset, and after doing so, he experienced no improvements whatsoever.

He had all of his drivers installed, and anti-virus software, so it's unlikely a software problem.

This is the rig he had:
Intel i5 4690K 3.5GHz (with stock CPU cooler)

Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB DDR3

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 2GB

Corsair CS550M 550W

Gigabyte GA-Z97x-UD3H

Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

Thanks

Check that the power connectors for the graphics card have not come loose.

Maybe the other room ambient temperatures high. Is there anything your brother does before he moves he's PC to other room ?

He didn't do anything before moving it to his room, and after swapping out the Graphics cards between our rigs, his performance went up considerably, so it's likely that was the problem. We are swapping them back and doing another test to see if its a hardware issue in the card, or just a loose connection.

UPDATE: after returning his original graphics card, he experiences the same performance as when he first tested it, so its likely just a loose connection. We will keep an eye on it for the next few days though

The GTX 660 requires more power than it can draw from the PCI-E slot.
If the power connector is not attached properly, it will slow down considerably.
The connector likely just came loose when moving the PC. Make sure it clicks into place.
